Project Overview:
The Audi dashboard spatial design for VisionPro is a forward thinking concept for the next generation digital cockpit. Developed for the Apple VisionPro platform, it combines immersive 3D design with intuitive user guidance to offer drivers a completely new experience, blending reality with digital enhancement.
Objective:
The goal of this project was to create an innovative, connected, and safe driving experience. Through spatial design, the aim was to develop an interface that not only provides information but also presents it contextually, clearly, and visually appealing. The vision: the vehicle becomes an intelligent, digital companion.
Challenges:
Optimizing spatial design UX for the driving context
Designing in a 3D space required a shift in thinking. Classic interfaces had to be reinterpreted for the spatial environment and made intuitively usable.
Visually presenting real time data
Information such as battery status, consumption or vehicle condition needed to be clear, concise and instantly understandable without overwhelming the user.
Combining interactive control with safety
Touch, gaze and gesture controls had to be integrated in a way that does not distract while driving but still feels immersive.
Integrating service functions meaningfully
Workshop booking, emergency assistance and diagnostics were directly embedded into the interface, functional, accessible and intelligent.
Design Process:
The journey began with the question: What will the dashboard of tomorrow look like?
I developed initial wireframes in 2D and gradually transitioned them into 3D layouts, adapted for spatial interfaces. In Figma, I created a visually clear, modern surface with a focus on transparency, depth, and user-friendliness.
By using cards, glass UI, and rounded container elements, a light floating look was created that perfectly fits the VisionPro experience. The structure is based on a clear hierarchy, modular layout, and adaptive usage.
Outcome:
The result is a visionary Audi dashboard that marks the entry into a new way of mobility control. Information, interaction and immersion merge into a smart, safe and emotional user experience.
The concept lays the foundation for the next generation of in car interfaces, perfectly aligned with Audi’s innovation strategy and the premium driving experience of the future.
